Man Stabs His Lover To Death After Finding Condoms In Her Handbag

A mother of three was stabbed to death by her lover after he found condoms in her handbag in Edo State. The woman whose name was revealed to be Gladys Okoh, 38, was stabbed three times with a kitchen knife by her 46-year-old lover, Osaremwinda Omobude Idumwonyi. The incident happened in her mother's room at No.13, Ehiyoboy Street, Off Aifuwa Street, Off Upper Sokponba road, Ikpoba-Okha L.G.A, Edo State.

Gladys parted ways with her husband and decided to spend the night at her lover's house, which is also close to her home, she returned home the following morning. 
After some hours, she was stabbed three times in her abdomen. She was rushed to the hospital where she later died.

 According to reports, Gladys's lover discovered male condoms in her bag and he became suspicious that she was cheating with other men. He left his residence after the discovery and went straight to her house. He passed his lover's aged mother who was sitting by the door, went into the room, to attack Gladys. Her aged mother made efforts to save her by screaming in pain, during the violent attack. 
It is not clear whether the condoms were found inside her bag while she was with him in his house the previous night or when he came to her aged mother's apartment.
The suspect is currently in the custody of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). 
As reported by Vanguard, a police source said that the suspected killer told the police that Gladys picked the kitchen knife to stab him when the argument started, he overpowered and killed her in self-defense. The knife was recovered from the killer's kitchen, when police investigators arrested him and he was taken home for a search. 
The Public Relations Officer for Edo State Police Command, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the murder, saying that investigations are still going on.
