Nigerian Woman Kills Her Friend For Telling Her Boyfriend That She Is A Prostitute

A woman has been remanded at Ilesa prison by an Osogbo Magistrates’ court for allegedly killing her friend.

23-year-old Jimoh Simiat allegedly killed Esther Oga during a fight around Fountain University area, Osogbo, on 10th February, 2018.

Explaining what led to the fight, Simiat said Esther called her a prostitute then went as far as telling her boyfriend the same thing. Simiat confronted her when she got wind of this and a fight broke out which ultimately led to Esther's death.

The body of Esther Oga, popularly known as Mama Friday, was discovered by the roadside in the early hours of Feb 10. 

The Magistrate, Tunde Badmus said the accused must be remanded in prison based on the nature and magnitude of the offence committed. He added that the court does not have jurisdiction to continue with the case, and ordered that the accused person be remanded in Ilesha prison custody, pending her arraignment at the High Court which has the requisite jurisdiction.
