The governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has his chief of staff, Uche Nwosu, the secretary to the state government, George Eche, deputy chief of staff, Paschal Obi, ahead of the 2019 general elections.
According to a statement released in Owerri by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Sam Onwuemeodo, it revealed that the affected appointees are contesting elective positions on the All Progressive Congress platform. Their appointments was terminated so to enable them participate fully, in the party's primary elections.
Mr Okorocha also terminated the appointments of other members of his cabinet, their names include Commissioner for Investment and Trade, Prof, Nnamdi Obiaraeri, Commissioner for Trade, Emma Ojinero, Commissioner for Gender and Social Development, Joy Mbawuike, Commissioner for Information, Ngozi Njoku, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Simeon Iwunze, Commissioner for Finance, Dan Nworie, The Special Assistant General Duties, Special Assistant Finance, Betty Uzoma and Special Adviser, Urban Renewal, Obinna Amagwula.
