The media aide to Governor Fayose of Ekiti State, Lere Olayinka said his boss narrowly escaped an assassination plot after he was hit by teargas canister and he is currently receiving treatment.
In Lere Olayinka's word, "Gov Fayose, a few minutes ago escaped plot to assassinate him by Fayemi and his APC. He is currently receiving treatment at govt house clinic after he was hit by teargas canister fired by the policemen. The armed policeme still laying siege at the Govt House".

Earlier, Fayose himself tweeted that the entrance to Ekiti Government House was blocked by gun wielding mobile policemen saying, 'the plan is to prevent our victory walk slated for today but we will remain undeterred'.
