Zimbabwean president, Emmerson Mnangagwa, survived an assassination attempt on his life on June 23rd
According to Zimbabwean media, 75-year-old President Mnangagwa who took over office from Robert Mugabe, had gone to the White City stadium for a political rally. After his speech, he was making his way down the podium when a bomb went off.
The Zimbabwean presidency however says he escaped unhurt. Sadly, two of his aides died as a result of the incident.
